PRESS RELEASE: Five More Years in Dupont, 2011-2012 Plans

May 10, 2011—Keegan THeatre announced today that the company has signed a lease renewal to extend its residency at Church Street Theater through 2017. “We are thrilled to be making this announcement,” says Rhea.

Keegan is extremely proud to be Dupont Circle’s professional theater company, and honored that audiences have supported our work here so enthusiastically. Signing a lease for five more years is an honor and an extremely fulfilling milestone for us.”

Final planning is underway for Keegan’s 2011-2012 season, the company’s fifteenth. Keegan will open its season with Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, which the company is taking to Ireland in September on its annual international tour.

PRESS RELEASE: National Pastime

On Saturday, April 9, The Keegan Theatre opens NATIONAL PASTIME, a world premiere musical comedy written by Tony Sportiello (book) and Al Tapper (music and lyrics). A reading of NATIONAL PASTIME took place at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in New York in May 2010. Producers from Chicago and New York are joining forces with the Keegan Theater for this limited five-week engagement prior to its moving onward.

The cast of THE WEIR are no strangers to the stage or to Irish theater, with 15 Ireland tours, 5 Helen Hayes nominations, and dozens of roles in Irish works between them.
