Alexis J. Hartwick

Director of Education and Administration, Company Member

Alexis has more than fifteen years experience teaching prek-12th grade students.  She spent more than 10 years as a middle school theater teacher in Fairfax County Public Schools and particularly loves working with this age group because their emerging talent, sense of humor, and fresh perspective on the world always amaze her.  She has directed more than 25 youth productions at South County Middle School and also with the Mt Olivet Players in collaboration with Keegan Theatre.  Directing highlights include The Curious Savage, Alice in Wonderland, Twelfth Night, and Little Shop of Horrors.   As a Keegan Company Member, Alexis has been on the stage management team for What We’re Up Against, The Lonesome West, Next to Normal, American Idiot, Magic Tree, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, HAIR, An Irish Carol, A Few Good Men (Ireland and US), A Behanding in Spokane,  August:  Osage County, Spring Awakening, 25thAnnual Putnam County Spelling Bee, National Pastime, A Man of No Importance, and RENT.  As business assistant, she helps the artistic leadership team administratively with business tasks, contract management, volunteer submissions, donor and sponsorship programs.  She also supports Keegan’s grant programs, and serves on the Development Committee.  Alexis earned her Masters Degree in the Art of Teaching from the University of Southern California, is certified with Yoga Alliance as an RYT 200, and is certified to teach theater prek-12th grade.
