The Helen Hayes Awards has recommended Keegan’s production of LAUGHTER ON THE 23RD FLOOR, now playing through February 18.
You want funny? Keegan Theatre has funny. Laughter on the 23rd Floor. They killed it, nailed it, knocked it out of the park.
The Keegan Theatre’s “Laughter on the 23rd Floor,” a Neil Simon play based on Simon’s experiences as a joke writer for 1950s NBC variety show “Your Show of Shows,” opens Saturday.
Inspired by the playwright’s youthful experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows, this Neil Simon favorite depicts the harried writing staff as they frantically scramble to top each other with gags while competing for the attention of star madman Max Prince. Laughter on the 23rd Floor takes a look at the backstage chaos that goes into writing and producing a show during the 1950’s golden age of television.
The Keegan Theatre is thrilled to announce the final line-up for the 2011-2012 season, the company’s fifteenth.
