Keegan enters this milestone season with robust and enthusiastic audiences, ambitious work ahead, and a clear vision for the next 30 years. At the same time, like mid-sized theaters across the country, we are contending with rising costs and disappearing grant dollars.
Our commitment remains unchanged: to produce ambitious, accessible theater, keep ticket prices affordable, pay artists fairly, and sustain the education and community programs that extend Keegan’s impact beyond our stage.
The financial pressure is especially acute right now because Keegan must mount productions and programs before the ticket revenue and year-end contributions that help support them arrive. We are confronting that reality directly, carefully managing our resources, strengthening fundraising, and making thoughtful decisions so Keegan can move forward from strength.
Your gift today will have twice the impact. A $500 gift becomes $1,000. A $1,000 gift becomes $2,000. A $5,000 leadership gift becomes $10,000 for Keegan.
Your support helps keep ambitious theater onstage in Dupont Circle, local artists working, and ticket prices accessible. It also sustains the programs that extend Keegan’s impact beyond the stage. PLAY-RAH-KA after-school programs serve more than 400 students annually, KeeganConnects opens the theater to new audiences through free and accessible ticket programs, and the Boiler Room Series gives emerging and underrepresented playwrights a pathway from a first draft all the way to full production.
