Sarah Stewart Chapin returns to Keegan with her dear friend, NYC’s Alex Ratner, to perform a tender, yet lighthearted love letter to their mothers. Sarah and Alex met in New Haven in 2013, and have been performing together ever since. Now their mothers have something in common too – in September 2020, Sarah’s mother was diagnosed with brain cancer, and in February 2022, Alex’s mother was given the same diagnosis. In Hey Mom, I Made a Cabaret, Sarah and Alex will share music about mothers, for their mothers, and will probably (definitely) poke fun at their mothers. Featuring original music by Alex and fellow Yale composers, to songs from past Keegan seasons, to other Broadway favorites, their show is dedicated to the people who mother us, in whatever form they take.
