“What’s Galentine’s Day? Oh, it’s only the best day of the year. Every February 13th, my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home, and we just come and kick it, breakfast-style. Ladies celebrating ladies. It’s like Lilith Fair, minus the angst. Plus frittatas.” — Leslie Knope (Parks and Recreation)
You’re invited to Katie’s Place for a special Galentine’s Day cabaret at Keegan – though we don’t want you to leave anyone at home, because this evening is for ANYone and EVERYone! And while there won’t be any frittatas, and it’s not exactly Lilith Fair (RIP), there will be lots of singing, fantastic music, adult beverages (perhaps a mimosa!), games, and special guests!
It’s all happening at Katie’s Place with your lady of honor, Katie McManus (obvi), and gal pal Elisa Rosman at the piano. So come ‘kick it’ with us lady friends.
KATIE MCMANUS has been a fixture on (and off) the Keegan stage since the summer of 2008, where she first appeared as Fermina in Man of La Mancha. She then went on to play Joanne in the critically acclaimed, Helen Hayes award-winning musical, RENT! After that it was A Man of No Importance, the world premiere of National Pastime, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Big Fish, Chicago, and Hands on a Hardbody. In early 2022, she played Joan in the hilarious Yoga Play, and then concluded her year in the poignant song cycle, Elegies.
In addition to her time with Keegan, Katie has performed on numerous stages in the Washington, DC area, including Signature Theatre (Titanic, Chess, Sweeny Todd), NextStop Theatre (Little Women, City of Angels, Into the Woods, Title of Show, Assassins, Suessical), Studio Theatre (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Shakespeare Theatre Company (Two Gentlemen of Verona: A Rock Opera), and Creative Cauldron (Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris, Ruthless!, And the World Goes ‘Round). She has also performed with Kristen Chenowith, Megan Hilty, Scott Bakula, Cheyenne Jackson, Laura Benanti, and the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington, DC.
