When their Editor-in-Chief gets caught using some unexpected profanity, the employees of Webster’s Dictionary find themselves at the center of an internet uprising over gender and obscenity in the age of social media. As office politics collide with ambition, morality, and lexicography, the future of the English language hangs in the balance. A comedy about vulgar words and the people who define them.

DC Theater Arts Review
“Playwright Jacqueline Bircher sets out to parse what’s fraught about the B-word in her scathingly funny WEBSTER’S BITCH, a light-hearted sitcom that pulses and surprises with the sexual politics of language.”
Washington Post Review
“What at first looks to be a simple workplace farce morphs into something more curious and observant … “Go,” in the imperative usage, is still my advice regarding WEBSTER’S BITCH…”
Maryland Theatre Guide Review
“Directed by Keegan Artistic Director Susan Marie Rhea, Bircher’s script is sharp and breezy in the mouths of a talented ensemble cast… it’s a high-energy play with some stellar performances, plenty of laughs, and a healthy amount of worthwhile commentary…”
Broadway World Review
“Playwright Jacqueline Bircher has done a seemingly impossible task with her play, WEBSTER’S BITCH. She’s written a compelling, funny, and dramatic show about lexicography and, subsequently, lexicographers.”
