Keegan Theatre To Host
Benefit Performance of “Steel Magnolias”
for American Diabetes Association
On August 19, 2011, proceeds from the 8:00 pm performance of STEEL MAGNOLIAS will support the American Diabetes Association. For this performance, tickets are $50.00 — in addition to the performance itself, audience members will enjoy a silent auction and an opportunity to mingle with the cast and crew after the show.
Proceeds from this benefit performance will support the American Diabetes Association’s DC Walk Event on October 22nd.
About American Diabetes Association:
Did you know that someone is diagnosed with diabetes every 17 seconds? That’s more than 35,000 friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members in the next 7 days. Diabetes is a growing epidemic; it’s a disease that has a physical, financial, and (as you will see in this show) emotional impact.
At the American Diabetes Association, we lead the fight against diabetes and its consequences by:
- funding critical diabetes research delivering education and outreach to hundreds of communities nationwide
- providing support and information through our website and national call center
- giving voice to those denied their rights because of their diabetes
- One way we raise funds to do all this is through our Step Up: Walk to Stop Diabetes event, held in cities throughout the U.S.
By coming to see Steel Magnolias on August 19th, you’ll be helping Team Rainmaker of the ADA home office make a significant impact in the DC Walk event, being held on October 22nd.
