Keegan Theatre kicks off 2016 with Steve Martin’s hilarious play PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE. The long running Off-Broadway absurdist comedy takes us to a Parisian bar in 1904, where the young Picasso and Einstein are just a few years away from creations that will change the course of the 20th century. Mix in some chic girls, a savvy art dealer and a clever barkeep and the stage is set for the sublime and ridiculous. PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE runs January 16- February 13, 2016 at the Andrew Keegan Theatre in Washington, DC. The press opening is Tuesday, January 19, 2016- 8pm.
Directed by Chris Stezin, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE features Matthew Keenan, Bradley Foster Smith, Brandon McCoy, Allison Leigh Corke, Amanda Forstrom, Kevin Adams, Lee Liebeskind, Michael Innocenti, Sheri S. Herren, Jessica Power, Katie Rosenberg and Michael Kozemchak.
“Highly credible and… very funny. The subject matter is daring… You get giggles in plenty [and] moments of enlightenment… The introduction of the final, exquisitely selected visitor from the future is a master stroke.” – The New York Post.
This is Keegan Theatre’s 19th season in Washington, DC and their inaugural season in their newly renovated theater located in Dupont Circle.
