Keegan Theatre Presents Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor
December 22, 2011: The Keegan Theatre continues its 15th season with Neil Simon’s Laughter on the 23rd Floor opening January 21 and playing through February 18, 2012 at the Church Street Theater.
Inspired by the playwright’s youthful experience as a staff writer on Sid Caesar’s Your Show of Shows, this Neil Simon favorite depicts the harried writing staff as they frantically scramble to top each other with gags while competing for the attention of star madman Max Prince. Laughter on the 23rd Floor takes a look at the backstage chaos that goes into writing and producing a show during the 1950’s golden age of television.
Filled with nostalgia, classic Catskills humor, and colorful characters, Laughter on the 23rd Floor features Allison Corke, Bradley Smith, Michael Innocenti, Brianna Letourneau, Matt Dewberry, Dan Van Why, Ray Ficca, John Loughney and Kevin Hasser. Keegan Company member Colin Smith directs.
The Keegan Theatre, in its 15th season in Washington DC, is the resident company at Church Street Theater in Dupont Circle.
