Kilkenny: Our final stop
Then, suddenly, it was our last day in Ireland.
Then, suddenly, it was our last day in Ireland.
Leaving Mullingar, we headed southwest to stop number 4 on the crisscross country tour to Ennis’s Glór Theatre.
Mullingar may well have been the warmest city we’ve visited. Not just in terms of temperature, because the weather was perfect for us, but also in terms of the people.
A morning off meant that it was time for an adventure to Blarney Castle for the intrepid Ireland cast of A Few Good Men.
So we left Galway on Tuesday morning and moved on to Cork, stop number two on our grand tour of Ireland with AFGM.
This tour has been a “full circle” experience for me.
The last two days that we were in Galway were off days for us. Some people stayed close and wandered the city. Others chose to take day trips.
The big night has finally arrived. Thursday: show day. The set is up. Light cues are done and firing.
Today is a bittersweet day on the tour. We’ve been in Galway for a week now, and with two successful performances under our belts we are all feeling a lot more comfortable.
So we opened last night—after what seems like both forever and the shortest amount of time imaginable. To say we’re all exhausted is putting it mildly but it all went so well.
